Welcome...and diving right into things

Well for my first post, a quick intro.  My name is Adam, I'm a 21 year old college student.  I'm a nats fan, but can really get along with anyone and I'm pretty unbiased, almost completely unbiased when it comes to fantasy.  I hope this blog is at least somewhat useful and that it becomes worthwhile for everyone.  So with that said, lets get started.

Obviously this would be much better and more ideal if there was a season's flow to it...i wish i thought to start this back towards the end of the winter talking about draft prep, etc.  Oh well.

I have different thoughts and philosophies which i will touch on as i go, in addition to trying to say some here right off the bat, and they will be more noticeable and applicable:

I'm a huge buy low, sell high guy.  This is obviously a touch thing, and can get you burned.  For example, I traded Trout last year based on name and when he had his first hot week or 2.  Needless to say, I got dramatically burned.

I love stashing injured guys.  A few years ago, yes i did have an inside knowledge, but nonetheless I stashed Strasburg for about 2 months until his debut fro TJ surgery.  I ended up winning that league, he played a big role.

I generally avoid high upside low floor guys in early rounds, and jump all over them in middle and late rounds.  I don't know if I will ever draft Tulo (as much as I love the guy as a ballplayer), Posey (or any catcher for that matter), and rarely take a pitcher in the first round or 2 (this is also partly due to how i value hitters higher, but I am also worried about injuries).  Finally, young hot shots not proven yet tend to worry me (i.e. my trading away of Trout).

There is more, of course.  I know many of those are general rules of thumb, but how they are actually applied is not a one size fits all.

Main thing, other than intro type stuff, I want to talk about it Yusiel Puig.  I actually own him in 1 league and am at a complete crossroad.  To sell ultra high, or to keep?  Well, its hard to tell.  Someone has told me he is this years Trout.  I don't buy that at all, at least yet.  Yes he has come up, sparked a team (from LA nonetheless), and is incredibly talented.  But he seems much more raw than Trout.  I think a better comparison is a faster Cespedes, with a higher contact rate too.  But we just don't know yet.
My philosophy is this: If you can get elite or near elite talent, do it.  No question.  If someone offers me King Felix for him, i take it in a heartbeat.  I won't even get into first round names...Votto, Cargo, Cano.....obviously yes. Now, it gets difficult when you look at a guy like, say Josh Hamilton.  He is a huge wild card the rest of the season (ROS) in my opinion.  To be honest, I would have to really think about that.  I would likely not do it off the top of my head, without looking into Hamilton a whole lot.  Can he be pulling an Adam Dunn to Chicago on us?  Not sure.

Last thing that is key is this is our Harper injury update day.  Obviously this is a huge factor for fantasy.  He was almost a lock as at least a first rounder back in April.  However, since he hit the wall in Atlanta on April 28th, he has struggled mightily, and ultimately put on the DL, which he mentioned was over a month too late.

Any ideas, suggestions, etc to make this better I would really appreciate. Thanks.
